WhatsApp has released an update for its WhatsApp Messenger app for Android in the Google Play Store with new Google Drive backup feature, new sets of emoji icon, and other improvements. You can download WhatsApp APK latest version 2.12.235 here.
Google Drive Backup allows you set backups to occur daily, weekly, monthly, or manually, and whether you're on Wi-Fi or both Wi-Fi and a cellular connection. Go to Settings, Chats and calls, Chat backup to enable the feature manually.
